Scaling recipes

We learnt that sometimes recipes need to be scaled if we are making for smaller or larger groups of people. We discovered we could multiply to increase the quantities and divide to decrease the quantities of ingredients.

We practiced this with different recipes working in pairs, a Year 4 child with a Year 3 child.

In groups with Mrs. King, we made some buns from a recipe and then we answered some scaling questions about this recipe, back in class.  The buns baked beautifully.

Later, we had fun decorating them then eating them too.
